PAN-AADHAAR LINKING IS COMPULSORY

 


Why?

1. PAN becoming INOPERATIVE

2. TDS deducted at higher rate

3. Not be able to file return using the inoperative PAN

4. Pending returns will not be processed

5. Pending refunds cannot be issued to inoperative PAN

6. Might face difficulty at various other fora like banks, Share market and other financial portals (due to PAN is important KYC criterion)


HOW TO LINK?

Step1. Go to e-filing portal home page and click on Link Aadhaar under Quick links 

or Click

https://eportal.incometax.gov.in/iec/foservices/#/pre-login/bl-link-aadhaar

Step2. Enter the PAN and Aadhaar and click on Validate

Step3. Enter the mandatory details as required and click on Link Aadhaar.

Step4. Enter the 6-digit OTP received on mobile no. mentioned in the previous step and click on Validate.

Step5. Request for link of Aadhaar has been submitted successfully, 

Now you can check the Aadhaar-PAN link status.



HOW TO CHECK STATUS?

Step1. On the e-Filing Portal homepage, under Quick Links click Link Aadhaar Status

Step2. Enter your PAN and Aadhaar Number, and click View Link Aadhaar Status.

Step3. On successful Validation, a message will be displayed regarding your Link Aadhaar Status.
